- Local History Week
The Surry County Historical Society is proud to participate, along with other organizations, in a week of educational experiences for school groups that bring to life activities and traditions of bygone times.
- Sonker Festival
Then Sonker Festival is held each year on the first Saturday of October at the Edwards Franklin House from 1 - 5 PM. It features the deep-dish pies, known as sonker, displays of local crafts and historical collections as well as traditional music performed by musicians from the area. The festival is held at the Edwards Franklin House
